=F-16 vs. Mig-29=

The F-16 Multirole Fighter is the best the worldhas to offere when it comes to true multi-mission fighter planes. Capable of housing a larger variety of ordnance and fuel pods than any other fighter aircraft, the F-16 adeptly handles a wide range of tasks. Air-to-Air missiles such as the AMRAAM and the AIM-9M Sidewinder along with a unique, high maneuverability body blend makeing the F-16 a formidable opponent in air combat and interception. Laser and Infrared guided bombs and missles such as the GBU-10 and the AGM-84 Harpoon allowing the F-16 to be used in precision ground strikes and maritime interdiction. Advanced dectection instruments such as LANTIRN and FLIR permit the aircraft to operate fully at night in all weather conditions. The current F-16 can do it all. Originally intended to be lightweight air-to-air fighter, the F-16 first flew in January of 1974. Over its long lifetime, it would see continual upgrades and refits to its body/tail design, engines and decetion systems. This helped transcend the F-16 into a superbly effective multi-mission aircraft. The current service record speaks for itself. With an impressive 69-0 kill ratio and an average peacetime mission success rate of 88%, the F-16 is a proven asset. Due to the nine highly configurable hard points, the USAF continues to use the F-16 to test new forms of advanced weaponry. To this day, F-16s have been successfully utilized in enforcing U.N. no-fly zones over Iraq. With a price tag of under $20 million, it is no wonder why 20 air forces around the world choose the F-16.

The modern Mig-29 Fulcrum remains one of the world's most maneuverable fighter jet. Unlike the Mig-29, the western "Fly-By-Wire" planes limit their pilots' control of the plane with Hard Limits. Capable of breaching soft limits, Mig pilots can push the plane to its extremes and handle remarkable moves such as the Tailside and the Cobra Maneuver. The InfraRed Search and Track with laser targeting system that allows these stealthy hunters to approach their targets without having to emit position compromising Radar signals. Exported to nearly 30 airforces, the Mig-29 continues to be strong world presence in air superiority.
